Information on caregiving, depression, assisted living and other topics related to aging and the elderly is just a click of your mouse away. This comprehensive list of online resources was prepared by Dr. Michael Cheang, an assistant professor in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department of the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources. Be aware not all of these Web sites have been formally evaluated or endorsed by government agencies; check with your health-care professional to ensure the information is accurate.
 
 
 

http://cis.nci.nih.gov The Cancer Information Service is an information and education network of the National Cancer Institute, the nation’s primary agency for cancer research.

www.aad.org Learn about skin cancer and other skin conditions common among older people as well as free skin cancer screening services for elders on this site, which is sponsored by the American Academy of Dermatology.

www.aahsa.org The American Association for Homes and Services for the Aging is a national nonprofit organization representing nursing homes, continuing care retirement communities, assisted-living residences, senior housing facilities and community service organizations.

www.aarp.org AARP offers articles on insurance, personal finance, driver safety, housing choices, health and well-being, and dozens of other topics of interest to older adults.
